Thank you all for joining us. We wanted to let you know a little bit about us. So here goes!
My family immigrated to the U.S. from Taiwan by way of boat when I was only four. Just kidding. I'm not that old. We were lucky enough to be able to fly here. Growing up in a poor family, I never felt deprived as a child. My mother did the best she could. Children are more resilient than we often give them credit for. We had very little in terms of toys. Only bringing to the U.S. what we could carry, I guess my parents felt that clothing and other necessities were more important than toys! I didn't agree at the time. Still, I remember my first stuffed animal my mother bought us when we lived in the States. It was a cheap stuffed white elephant filled with Styrofoam. Definitely carcinogenic. Yet I cherished it and have it to this day, holes and all. We were creative and created our own fun. Who doesn't remember building a tent or a fort out of chairs and blankets. I remember we would play shark and my poor little brother always had to be the shark. Anyway, our imagination and our bond kept us happy and truly fulfilled.
My parents! Where it all began.
I always told my friends at school my dad was Bruce Lee. They believed me!
Future Blogger! Or plane?
I'm on the left with the red shoes and the big mouth. Everyone thought I was a little boy for the longest time. In this picture, we are still in Taiwan.
We settled first in Queens, New York. I'm pretty sure we lived in the projects. We would have at least one rat, the size of a cat, climb in through the fire escape and scurry up the wall of the kitchen. Being a lover of animals, I would always want to keep it as a pet. Thankfully, my other knew better. She would sqish the disease infested vermon with, what had to be, the biggest set of wire clippers I'd ever seen. In a way, she was like the super heros we saw in the cartoons.
This way, to the Gun Show! I'm in the middle with a bad, home spun perm. My mom didn't know you weren't suppose to brush permed hair when it was dry. The look grew on me.
Here we are with my grandmother in Niagara Falls. My brother cracks me up.
Same shirt, different day. My mother actually pulled me aside and told me I ruined all of our photos with my silly faces. I disagree!
With my cousins and aunts. No Asian photo is complete without the bunny ears.
At Busch Gardens! Happy happy happy!!
I don't remember what grade this was but I laugh every time I see this photo with my white socks and flood sweat pants.
The outfit was, of course, our parents' ideas. I'm not sure which mastermind was behind the red stockings.
We finally settled in Willow Grove, a small suburb of Philadelphia. Although we were still poor, we were able to attend a great school and graduate from Lehigh University. My brother, my sister, and I all attended the same school and were able to land great jobs. We are truly living the American dream!
My brother graduated with a Computer Science degree and is currently living in New York City and working for a hedge fund. My sister graduated with an Industrial Engineering degree and stayed in our home town. She has a beautiful daughter and a heart of gold. She continues to help my mother and anyone who may need it. And I, being the middle child, have always been a bit of a rebel. With my intention to be a doctor, I graduated with a B.S. in Molecular Biology and worked in biotech for a few years. I moved first to Jersey and then to Rhode Island. It was there that I was "discovered" by a photographer and began modeling. I finally moved to Sin City, Nevada to pursue modeling full time.
All grown up!
Pretty Pretty (my sister, that is!)
My doll of a niece, Mei Lei. I translates to "beautiful" in Mandarin. This one is an oldie but goodie.
But oh, did I get more than I bargained for. I mean, I thought I would just sneak into this city under the radar. Nothing is under the radar in Vegas. Everything is in excess and all the time! You mix booze and poor judgement, you always end up with hilarious unexplainable pictures and tons of crazy stories. I love whipping out my Happy Man Bottle Stopper at parties. You can imagine the pictures!
And trust me when I tell you this, "what happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas," thanks to social media and the internet of course! I mean, hell! There's a company called "Spy on Vegas" that goes to different night clubs and takes snapshots of people doing . . . whatever it is they're doing. I'm sure they have enough incriminating evidence to be part of CSI. Don't waste your money on private investigators, just check out these photography companies.
Oh, and there's always your occasional celebrity siting too! Everyone who's anyone comes to Vegas at some point. They sure as hell aren't going to Willow Grove, PA. LOL. I digress. Anyway, my favorite times were always centered around spending time with friends and eating. Life in Vegas is pretty great, the pool season is long, people are beautiful, women NEVER pay for ANYTHING! And, to top it all, restaurants are AMAZING!
Napkin Nights was another one of those photography companies. Luckily we were on our best behavior here.

My birthday dinner at Tao with my girlfriend Veronica. I'm pretty sure I wore that vest as a shirt. Lol.
I remember one year the night before Christmas, a bunch of friends and I decided to go midnight bowling at the South Point Casino. I mean, dollar games and dollar drinks? You can't beat that! After staying out all night and lighting up the town, we came home at 8 in the morning. I felt like I had gotten run over by three trains but I was suppose to cook. I didn't want to be the "Grynch that stole Christmas" and not have dinner ready in time, so I proceeded to make my 10 course meal which included scratch made bread for 20 people. Why, oh why did I do this to myself? I couldn't have bought bread. Everything I did had to be over the top. Because I LOVE it! I love cooking and making people happy. And making people happy with my food is what I intend on doing.
So now, amongst my friends, I am the go-to person when it comes to food. They always know to invite Lisa when they want a great meal and good times. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to cooking and preparing food. So Krystal and I decided to tackle this amazing city's restaurants together. And, YES, dammit! I will teach her to cook if it kills me! I need a partner in crime! So come join us while we eat Vegas! You never know what happens. And, again, No! What happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay in Vegas!
I'm still that silly girl believe it or not!
Really! I am!
I clean up pretty nicely, don't I?
Thank God for great cameras and Photoshop . . .

My sister is a celebrity! I am so proud of you Lisa! You have always loved cooking and baking and you used your creative abilities in that realm! Can't wait to read more practical and tasty tips from you!
